An English Riviera Day out with your dog

Torquay and The English Riviera have a wonderful array of places that you can go with your dog. One of these is Berry Pomeroy Castle which lies just off the road between Paignton and Totnes.

The castle has long had a reputation for being one of the most haunted castles in Britain although some think this may be as a result of the imagination of Victorian writers rahter than the restless spirits of the departed.

Today, it is possible to visit this English Heritage property and then take your four legged friend for a circular walk that takes you on a fanatstic and picturesque route below the castle. It is fatastically tranquil and relatively undemanding walking which takes about 45 minutes . Usefully, the route either starts or ends at the Castle cafe and the toilets. There is free parking.
